Divine Worship

The Office of Worship exists to assist the diocesan bishop in his exercise of the office of sanctifying by providing consultation to the diocesan bishop, all priests (cf. CIC 528.1-2; CIC 530.1-7) and parishes (cf. CIC 230.1-3) and the diocesan high schools in matters that touch the celebration of the liturgy of the Church.
 
 The office also assists in planning and arranging the bishop's Stational Liturgy, the liturgies for larger diocesan events and priest gatherings, and preparing priest's funerals. The director of the office also assists the bishop in celebrating the sacred mysteries by serving as the Master of Ceremonies.
 
 Finally, because sacred art and architecture are an intergral part of our worship, the director of the Office of Worship serves as a consultant to review plans for the building or renovation of a church or chapel.
