In the case of any couple who has one or more prior attempts at marriage, no wedding dates are to be scheduled nor any pre-nuptial preparations are to take place (Synodal Legislation, art. 146, §2) until a Document of Freedom to Marry is made available for each attempt. This prohibition includes attending any pre-nuptial weekend.
For couples who have lost a spouse through death, this does not apply.
