This Jubilee Year is an opportunity to make pilgrimages or pious visits to designated holy places in order to give thanks to God, to strengthen the faith, and to make acts of reparation for our sins or the sins of others. It is also an opportunity to receive a plenary indulgence, made available in a special way during the Jubilee Year. For us in the Bismarck Diocese, you can obtain the jubilee indulgence by visiting the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Bismarck while on pilgrimage. To read about the jubilee year, how to make a pilgrimage, and how to receive an indulgence, go to cathedralparish.com/jubilee-2025. Bishop Kagan will celebrate a special Jubilee Mass at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit on Wednesday, June 11 at 5:30 PM. We must always prioritize the common good in our social and political life as we strive to create a just, secure and peaceful society that benefits everyone.
Offering the faithful departed a proper burial is indeed a great deed of charity for the deceased and for the living who continue to mourn their passing.
