The Hague Knights of Columbus are spearheading a fundraising effort for the St. Mary's Church restoration project by selling to-go quarts of homemade Hague knoephla soup on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Sunday, Dec. 8 at the Bismarck Eagles from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., or until gone. The knights have a goal of raising $10,000 through their efforts. For those unable to attend the soup fundraiser, donations toward the goal are appreciated, and checks can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church and mailed to PO Box 322, Strasburg, ND 58573. The Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Bismarck is hosting a dedication of the new organ and recital on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. The event will showcase the Cathedral’s new Rodgers organ and local talented organists. A reception will follow in the gathering space. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Patty is a national Catholic speaker who has been giving presentations in parishes and at Catholic conferences for over 20 years. Patty also hosts a weekly radio show on Covenant Network called “Pearl of Great Price” and a podcast called “The Daily Dose of Encouragement.” Each evening at 7 p.m., Patty will be giving a presentation in the church. The presentation on Sunday is titled “The Eucharist: The Source and Summit of Everything,” Monday is “God, I Really Don’t Have Time for This” and Tuesday will be “Lord, I Sure Could Use a Little Peace!” All are welcome to attend.
Ascension Parish in Bismarck is hosting their annual Christmas Eve dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 24 from 5:30-7 p.m. in their parish community room. All are invited to the Bismarck-Mandan Right to Life Chapter’s annual March for Life on the capitol building steps in Bismarck on Sunday, Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. This event is held annually on the Sunday closest to the anniversary of the Roe. v. Wade court decision in 1973 that ruled on the constitutional right to abortion in the U.S. Even though that law was overturned in 2022, it’s important to remember that abortion remains legal in more than 20 states. All are invited to the Festival of Trees weekend fundraiser for the Dakota Hope Clinic in Minot on Nov. 22-23. The festivities at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds kick off on Friday, Nov. 22 with Tea in the Trees from noon to 4 p.m. set against the backdrop of decorated Christmas trees, local musicians and dancers, homemade holiday treats and warm beverages for a free-will donation. The Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Bismarck joyfully invites the gathering of diocesan faithful for 40 continuous hours of Eucharistic Adoration and prayer. This 40 Hours Devotion event will take place at the Cathedral on November 22, 23, and 24 and includes around-the-clock Eucharistic Adoration, Masses, confessions, a healing service, and worship music. Monsignor James Shea, president of the University of Mary, will lead a parish mission with a series of homilies. Adoration during this event is open to everyone in the diocese.
