Max’s Mission is an outreach of the Catholic Bismarck Diocese whose mission is to comfort those who have lost a child due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss.
Max’s Mission is named in honor of Maximilian Pio, who received a prenatal diagnosis and arrived at 36 weeks, living a mere 30 seconds, long enough to be baptized and confirmed. We hope that by honoring the life of every lost child, we would in some small way not only facilitate the healing of so many broken hearts and dreams, but remember the joy that these babies brought to those who will always love and remember them.
One way in which this mission is accomplished is in the creation and giving of Max’s Mission boxes to those who have recently loss a child. Containing such things as a candle, framed art, stuffed animal, journal, and written materials, it is aimed to give the family of loss comfort and information on resources available to them as they mourn their child.
You may request materials from the Office of Family Ministry or print from below as needed.
