The office, through its co-directors, serves as liaison in Western North Dakota between the Diocese of Bismarck and the African Mission in the Diocese of Kisii, Kenya, East Africa.
The co-directors have been serving in their present capacity since returning from the diocesan mission in Kenya in 1999 where they served the Bismarck Diocese African Mission in Kisii.
The directors have overall responsibility for the administration of the mission program. Among the activities are working with other diocesan offices in fund raising in support of the mission work. The mission program is fully funded by donations to the African Mission Appeal. None of the God's Share gifts go to this project.
The co-directors also speak to various groups throughout the diocese and elsewhere informing them of the mission work in Kenya; recruit and interview those interested in mission and direct their discernment, their sending, and then serving as their contacts while they are in mission and assisting in their reentry upon their return from mission.
